Volunteering at FMoPA is extremely flexible- we want to work with YOUR schedule! If you have a passion for special events, volunteer to help us on Fourth Fridays where there are artist lectures and exhibition openings. Do you have experience cataloging and working with databases? Lend a hand with the permanent collection and our growing Resource Center. If you have an educational background, FMoPA can always use more help with our outreach programs to teach visual literacy to members of our community.
Volunteers are invited to work in an area of the museum that they are passionate about, and the FMoPA team will do our best to make sure that your experience as a FMoPA Volunteer is rewarding on all sides.
Complete your degree requirements at your university by interning at FMoPA. Like volunteering, a FMoPA internship is tailored to your schedule and focuses on different aspects of the museum. Customer service, social media and marketing, exhibition planning, and special events are all areas that you can expect to gain experience from during your FMoPA internship.
Please contact your school counselor directly to make sure that your internship at FMoPA will count towards class credit.
We are currently looking to form a Teen Council at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. This program will give youths and teens between the ages of 13-18 the opportunity to become more involved in the arts community of Tampa Bay. The program will aim to reach a diverse population of teenagers in the area from all socio-economic, ethnic and religious backgrounds, and of all genders and sexual orientation.
