Introduction to Mobile Photography- Free Intro
Tuesday, July 25th, 6 pm- 7 pm
This is a special 1-hour, abbreviated version of a more comprehensive workshop on mobile photography that will be offered in August at FMOPA. Students will learn the basics of taking a good photograph, review smartphone camera and native editing functions, explore third-party photo-editing apps and discover other mobile camera-related accessories. This course is designed for people who want to improve their skills and understanding of mobile photography in order to take better — and more artful — pictures of people, places and things. This presentation-style workshop is open to all mobile device-users, but please be aware that live classroom demonstrations and some course material is specific to the iPhone. Students only need to bring their smartphones and their imaginations.
About the Instructor:
SCOTT BOLENDZ PHOTOGRAPHY
Scott Bolendz is an award-winning fine art photographer based in Bradenton, Florida. Using both DSLR and smartphone cameras, he creates intellectually-driven, concept-based projects that explore a diverse range of subjects. From lush tropical environments to moody seascapes, his emotionally expressive images give visual shape to a dynamic relationship between the internal and external worlds. Memory, personal history and identity imbue his work with a strong autobiographical dimension. He searches for subjects that connect his own particular life experiences with larger narratives of loss, human vulnerability and the perseverance of life. Scott’s work has been featured in numerous museum, gallery, and online exhibitions. He is represented by United Photographic Artists Gallery.
