The Fashion Photography Workshop is a four-week course designed to provide real world experience to students interested in professional practices. As a course inspired by industry standards, students will be collaborating with working professionals located here in central Florida. The ideal result is to broaden one’s own professional network, and to create a portfolio that can assist in furthering a career in commercial photography.
You will be instructed on:
– Studio-based strobe lighting techniques
– Tethering using Adobe Lightroom
– Call sheet production
– Creative team collaboration
– Proper on-set demeanor
– Creating a cohesive portfolio
– Contemporary and historical trends in fashion photography
There are no prerequisites for this workshop. However, familiarity with a DSLR, Adobe Lightroom, and basic camera controls will help to maximize the benefits of the course.

About the Instructor:
Tom Winchester is a photographer in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He holds a BFA in photography and an MFA in art writing from School of Visual Arts, and his photography has appeared in publications like NYLON, Inked, and XLR8R. He has also been an adjunct professor at Ringling College where he taught fashion photography, lens-based communication, studio lighting, and location lighting in the Photography and Imaging Department.

It is at the discretion of FMoPA to offer a transfer of credit to another course or workshop. This credit may not be issued more than once and expires after 6 months. If a refund is completed online there will be a small percentage taken from the total.
